Reach RVA is a coordinated gospel advance strategy for the Richmond metro — built on the conviction that no neighborhood, no people group, and no zip code should be left without a gospel witness. Use this guide to pray for the lost across Richmond's three spiritual progress categories, and for the church to be mobilized into every field.
Less than 0.1% evangelical. No known congregation or active church planting effort in Richmond.
For the Lost
Pray that God goes before every worker — preparing hearts, sending dreams, and opening sovereign doors where human strategy cannot reach. "Those who were not told of him will see, and those who have not heard will understand." (Romans 15:21, ESV)
Pray that the trauma of displacement and exile becomes an opening to the Prince of Peace — that uprootedness drives people to ask the questions only Jesus can answer.
Pray for supernatural encounters — dreams, visions, and the witness of creation — to reach those with no access to the gospel in Richmond. "The heavens declare the glory of God..." (Psalm 19:1, ESV)
For the Church
Pray for laborers — believers with legitimate cultural, linguistic, or relational access — to step forward and adopt these peoples as their own field of mission. "Pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers." (Luke 10:2, ESV)
Pray for Richmond churches to feel the weight of the unreached — that frontier peoples would not be an abstraction but a burden that moves people to go.

For the Lost
Pray for persons of peace — individuals God has already prepared to receive the gospel and open their households and communities to the good news. "Whatever house you enter, first say, 'Peace be to this house!'" (Luke 10:5, ESV)
Pray that gospel conversations multiply across every cultural gateway — workplaces, schools, community centers, and the ordinary rhythms of neighborhood life.
Pray for spiritual hunger to grow — that the idols of achievement, family honor, and religion leave people unsatisfied and ready to hear of the God who justifies. "How are they to hear without someone preaching?" (Romans 10:14, ESV)
For the Church
Pray for believers willing to cross cultural thresholds with humility — learning languages, earning trust, and going to places that feel unfamiliar.
Pray for discipleship groups to form and multiply within these communities — the seed sprouting toward a self-sustaining, indigenous movement. "The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground..." (Mark 4:26, ESV)
At least 2% evangelical with viable church presence. The gospel has taken root — the call now is to multiply.
For the Lost
Pray for the de-churched and post-Christian — those who have heard the gospel and walked away — to encounter the risen Christ with fresh eyes and surrendered hearts.
Pray for Richmond's university students, shaped by secular culture, to find in Jesus what no ideology or achievement can provide. "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." (Matthew 22:37, ESV)
Pray for spiritual re-awakening in communities with gospel heritage — that nominal faith gives way to living, multiplying discipleship.
For the Church
Pray for churches to shift from gathering crowds to sending disciples — moving from attractional models toward multiplicational movements. "...what you have heard from me entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also." (2 Timothy 2:2, ESV)
Pray for leaders to embrace the MAWL cycle — modeling the mission, assisting others into it, and ultimately launching workers toward the unreached segments nearby.
